I'M KATHERINE PIERCE.
DATE OF BIRTH: June 5, 1473. FATHER: Yosef. MOTHER: Tatiana. DAUGHTER: Nadia Petrova.
- Katherine never thought to turn off her humanity. The pain of her losses reminded her of why she had to keep running. If she stopped feeling, she'd stop running.
- Her mother told her to never be ashamed of how she felt, even if it was painful. After watching her mother go through her own trials and tribulations of being a woman in the 1400s, Katherine uses her as her strength.
- She often fantasises about that cottage and raising Nadia in it.
re: father
- He practiced being a Traveler but did not want Katerina to practice. (She practiced in secret.)
re: mother
- Incredibly close to her.
- Her mother wasn't particularly pleased with an out of wedlock pregnancy, but she was supportive nonetheless.
- Her death was the catalyst for Katerina to reinvent herself. The moment her mother died, so did she.
re: Aleksander
- Katerina slept with him because she firmly believed they would be together forever.
- He was rumoured to be from a Traveler family.
- A writer; he always wrote her silly poems and raunchy love letters.
- She had difficulty tracking him down once she became Katherine. She thinks she saw him at least once and found his own descendants. Katherine watched them over the years and did her best to protect them from harm.
- The only time she ever saw Aleksander again was at his grave.
re: Nadia
- Katerina was in love with Aleksander, whom she fell pregnant to.
- One of the names Katerina was considering was "Nadia" as in Bulgarian, it translates to "hope". She did tell her mother and Aleksander this.
- Katherine searched for Nadia for decades, even though she knew once it hit a century such a search was a lost cause.
- When she found out her own lineage had continued, she kept an eye on the descendants she was able to track down and did add a few people to her long list of victims who threatened to hurt her family.
- Katherine believes she would have Aleksander's blue eyes. (She has Katherine's in reality.)
re: Damon
- Katherine always kept Damon at an arm's distance away because he reminded her too much of Aleksander — blue eyes, dark hair, tall and regal in his own stature, and willing to do absolutely anything to ensure she was safe and sound. Aleksander was never as obsessive as Damon, but he was blindly and useless when in love.
- He made her feel like Katerina, which is why she consistently pushed him away. If she hurt him, it meant Katerina would never rise again.
re: Stefan
- Stefan allowed Katherine to reinvent herself over and over, thus allowing her to be free from Katerina.
- He played hard to get, which was the opposite of Aleksander and Damon. Being with him only reaffirmed the person she was trying to run away from.
- She did love Stefan. She liked his dry wit, love for his brother, and his gentleness.
- Katherine liked Stefan more than Damon because he reminded her of Elijah—noble, moral and gentle.

re: Elijah
- Loves him :)
- Let him go :(
- She still holds a torch for him because he was kind to her. She thinks if he can love her, then she's redeemed—she's loveable. He's a man of honour and integrity.
- His betrayal of her trust hurt her and still hurts her now. She questions how he could ever think she'd let him in again after he led her slaughter party.
- She resents him for thinking he knows her. He wants Katerina, not Katherine. He wants her to fulfil his idea—he loves the concept of her, not the person. He wants someone to save; Katherine doesn't need to be saved.
- Despite the fact Elijah was so desperate for her to be Katerina again, she enjoyed her time with him. Flirting, poking fun, being domestic—she wanted that life with him. Before the Scooby Gang interrupted them in Pennsylvania, he made her feel comfortable with herself. Elena and co. made him doubt her, which reopened new wounds to how easily persuaded Elijah is to think ill of her.
- He needs to earn her full trust.
- He's #2.

re: Elena
- Katherine's jealousy over Elena stems from her having everything she had once wanted, and being given it on a golden platter. Despite having her face, the Salvatores find it almost too easy to accept Elena and her mistakes. She's jealous of that—of the fact that Elena can do harm and still be forgiven, for the same reasons Katherine has harmed others.
- She doesn't live the life Katherine wants. Elena represents a facet of the woman people expect her to be—kind, gentle, and falling into step with the picket fence life. She doesn't want that.
- Survivor recognises Survivor, even if Katherine's the only one at the Boss Level.
- Katherine does feel a maternal instinct over Elena, but often pushes it aside. She recognises she's family, but Elena had been born too late for Katherine to be so selfless and stop protecting herself. If she hadn't lost her mother and had been a vampire regardless, perhaps things would be different.
