IN CHARACTER
NAME: Katerina Petrova. Katherine Pierce.
CANON: The Vampire Diaries.
CANON POINT: 4x18—before she gives the cure to Elijah.
AGE: 18 physically. Over 530 years old.
HEIGHT: 5'6" and badass.
BUILD: Tall, lean, athletic. Carries herself with confidence.
AFFECTION: When she plays a role, Katherine is quite affectionate dependent on the relationship. Outside of this, as Katherine, she's guarded. She won't hug you if she doesn't truly know you, won't kiss you or tap you on the shoulder. It takes a lot of work to be able to break that barrier with her, but it's worth it.
RELATIONSHIPS: M/F. Katherine's sort of maybe in a relationship with Elijah Mikaelson, although it is the peak definition of It's Complicated™. She's also sort of in a relationship with Stefan Salvatore, so... good luck! But M/F, slowburn is my jam.
She loves to flirt because it's fun and also a power move for her. She loves men with blue eyes, although she's mostly attracted to confidence. Your welcome to have your character crush on her (she's hot af after all and super confident) and I'm up for flirting!
Secretly has a soft spot for children. Nadia is her soulmate, respect!
VIOLENCE: Haha. She is a 530+ year old vampire, which, by canon laws, means that because of her age she is super duper powerful. She is one of the most powerful vampires in her world, and despite the fact that canon tends to fluctuate on remembering that, she can easily take on anyone who is younger than her (especially those who are very much younger than her) pretty easily.
Katherine is a dominant fighter due to her vampiric abilities. She can punch, kick, and is quite agile. She's terrifying to go up against. I'm happy for fights and for people to try with her, but just know she's super strong and durable, and it's difficult to win against her.
She is also able to withstand magical attacks depending on the strength of the magical user, i.e. a new-to-the-craft Bonnie couldn't even give her a headache.
As a human, she needs some training on how to fight, but Katherine will still put up a good one. She's a very quick learner.
TELEPATHY: I'd rather have the option to opt-in, solely because Katherine's response will be quite negative depending on the IC intentions and how it's done. I'm definitely interested in having her mind read as a player and want to be able to give you more detail in my tags to work off of!
Empaths can pick up Katherine's feelings in tags (just let me know so I can pack them with emotion!) but generally she's feeling: isolated, on guard, and on the defence.
No mind control as I doubt it'd work.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION:
As Katherine is a doppelgänger, there are a few tells to give her away when compared to Elena and the other ladies we don't speak of. Katherine wears her hair naturally curly. She dresses sensually and feminine, always opting for sleek pants and heels. Her voice is deep and husky.
Katherine is sly. She's always thinking ahead. Charismatic and endearing, she's able to draw you in by being a people person—or the person people want to be. She walks with confidence in her step. She stands at 5'6", with dark eyes, and an olive complexion. She's someone you can feel confidence radiate off because that's what she wants you to think of her.
What she presents to those around her is a mask and a web her pincers like to weave. She's a woman who is hiding beneath layers and layers of protection. She's heavily guarded.
Her voice, which is something to note: Impersonating Elena while also doing her nails.
MENTAL INFORMATION:
Katherine's mind would be as well guarded as she can make it. She takes vervain to make her immune to mind control by her canon's vampires, although this can be bled out of her as vervain is in her blood. She'd probably have walls upon walls in her mind, and she'd definitely fight you mentally.
That said, she's pretty stable. Emotionally constipated, yet aware at the same time. She's a doppelgänger, which means she is her own mystical being with magical properties. Characters who can sense the supernatural are free to sense she's a vampire and doppelgänger. She used to be a witch.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Not every thread will allude to these themes, but her backstory does feature: dubious consent, assault, massacre/murder, and suicide.
OOC-SPECIFIC PERMISSIONS
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: Imagery pertaining to any guts and blood and misogynistic name-calling ("bitch", "slut").
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Animal abuse, gore/vore, and any mutilation of any kind.

UNWANTED SCENARIOS:
Purely antagonistic threads for the sake of it. Being called out as a villain... Do people even do that anymore? Being reprimanded and info dumped on—this isn't fun for me...
Please don't out her as a vampire. If your character can sense a supernatural being, that's totally cool! I'd love to play with that. But please don't put it on a Gossip Girl blast. I have things I want to explore, and Katherine is not the type to give out business cards saying she's a vampire. She's got a Plan™.
If you absolutely need to out Katherine to someone, please run this by me.
Misogynistic language—sorry, not here for her being called a "slut" when it's always been uncalled for, even when said in canon. We live in a world where this is the norm, and I don't want it in my RP. I'm okay with her being called a "bitch" or "the best person ever." (I know, "bitch" is a bit hypocritical, but I feel like it has less of a sting than "slut/whore".) Unless previously discussed, please do not call her this.
Being mistaken for Elena. Unless pre-plotted, please do not mistake her for Elena. There is enough of a physical and vocal difference, and I pack my tags with the descriptions to set Katherine apart from her doppelgänger. I frankly don't enjoy this type of interaction and neither does Katherine.
Informing her of season 5 and 8. There are some bits I'm happy to deal with and a lot that I am not. I've outlined below what I really want to avoid. I've taken Katherine from season 4 for a reason. If you want to know why, I'm happy to give you the big tl;dr meta story.
This includes:
FYI: I'm working in a Nadia angle in her storyline and am happy for anyone to be a part of it. This is really the only aspect of season 5 I really want to incorporate.
NEGATIVE CR:
Katherine's a charming person who wouldn't let you know something's up; she's not really a violent person without a reason. I'm all for negative CR as long as it's warranted and an organic development. Katherine won't seek that person out, but I'm always eager to toss two characters who don't get along together and force them to work with one another.
That said, a hard no to her being cast/sensed instantly as a villain/bad guy.
KATHY PERMISSIONS:
Only person allowed to call her "Kathy" is Malachai Parker, the fuckhead.
FOURTHWALL PERMISSIONS:
For my wife: Deadpool, go for it. ♥
I'm fine with game mechanics fourthwalling her. I don't really want her to be fourthwalled as a fictional character by PCs (I find this to be cracky). She's rich in character hooks for your character. If you absolutely have to fourthwall her, please talk to me first about intent.
Your character is welcome to know of the legend of Katherine Pierce: a strong woman not to be trifled with who always overcomes incredible odds. She is, after all, the myth, the legend, the baddest bitch of all. (The only correct thing Kai Parker has said in his lifetime.)
VAMPIRE PERMISSIONS:
Katherine is a 530 year old vampire, which means she's one of the oldest in her canon and pretty fucking powerful. Please note that she is strategic and will not out herself as a vampire without an endgame in mind.
Below is a brief list of things that may affect your character and give us a good opportunity for some fun CR. I will contact players to gain permission for any of the below.
Obviously, I'll request permission before any of the above occurs in any threads and will pre-plot how that tracks. I don't want anyone to be uncomfortable with threading with Katherine. While she is a vampire and very much accepts her vampirism, there are plenty of other CR opportunities with her that don't tap into her vampirism.
If you absolutely need to out Katherine to someone, please run this by me.
This includes:
- Informing her that she becomes human. This will render Katherine unplayable i.e. where she's too antagonistic and suffers from hardcore revenge tunnel vision. The situation around her being turned human has the risk of making that happen. I also hate this storyline ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
- Elena feeding her the cure. It was the most bullshit plot point and takes away Katherine's agency. That's ironic given this show. I don't want her to know, thanks!
- Bodyjacking of Elena Gilbert from season 5. I don't like it and I don't agree with it, and I actually find it's really regressive of Katherine's character. I've taken Katherine from season 4 for a reason, and it's not to have to deal with writing decisions that I don't agree with (even though the circumstances did perpetuate it).
If castmates want to deal with it, that's fine, but I'm respectfully asking that I'm not involved and Katherine isn't punished and requested to explain her motivations for something my Katherine hasn't done. It makes Katherine unplayable for me.
In turn, her hardcore OOC boner for Stefan after they bone and she hijacks Elena's body. I love Stefan/Katherine like no other, but her choosing to chase a man over chasing a life with her daughter is OOC af to me given what's built in the episodes prior. - Informing her she dies. Informing her she dies of old age. In turn, informing her she goes to hell.
Again, castmates are more than welcome to deal with it themselves with whatever cr they like (if... you have to? I don't understand why it would be a conversational point, in all honesty), but I do not want it brought to Katherine for me to deal with. Her dying completely negates everything and renders her unplayable. She's the girl who saved herself and hunted desperately for her freedom. Her dying is a pathetic end (hey, Plec!) and totally tells Katherine she lost. It takes the wind out from beneath her wings.
That said, please speak to me if you believe a thread is going in the direction of revealing she becomes the Queen of Hell. While it's great for the CV, the only reason I would ever want her to know is by having it tied to Nadia. Right now, having her find out Nadia permanently dies will render her unplayable. - Nadia gets bitten by Tyler. Nadia is a vampire (I don't want her to know this right now). Like I said above, let's not go there.
- Informing her that she is a Traveler witch. She's played this card (and like every other card she has) close to her chest. Informing her of something she's kept secret (and has actually been identified in canon as one of the reasons why her homelife was tense and she lost her baby for) breeds distrust, especially for a character who doesn't only not trust easily, but is very desperate to have control over her own narrative and personal life.
- Whatever else she does in the future. I've only seen up to season 6 and retain knowledge from seasons 1-6 only. If Katherine does anything that isn't wearing a hideous wig in 8x16 and being written so poorly post-her season 5 appearance, I don't want her to be told about it and I don't want to deal with it.
FYI: I'm working in a Nadia angle in her storyline and am happy for anyone to be a part of it. This is really the only aspect of season 5 I really want to incorporate.

Below is a brief list of things that may affect your character and give us a good opportunity for some fun CR. I will contact players to gain permission for any of the below.
- BLOOD DRINKING: As a vampire, Katherine does need blood to survive. She often drinks from the vein and prefers to drink people than animals, since people blood makes her stronger. Katherine can drink your character's blood because they're a willing donor or she can drink from them and compel them to forget.
Please let me know if (1) you're happy with your character to be fed on without IC permission/trust sought or (2) you're happy with Katherine to drink from your character without seeing IC permission/trust and compel them to forget and allow her to continue drinking from them. - BLOOD HEALING: Katherine's blood can heal any injury, no matter how severe (although if you're going to die, you might just… die). All you have to do is drink it and it'll heal. It'd be pretty good development for Katherine to willingly heal someone with her blood without wanting anything in return.
In game, it'll depend on the extent of the injury whether or not her blood takes effect and heals any wounds. - VAMPIRE TURNING: If you die with his blood in your system, you turn into a vampire of her sire line. I'm not into this right now and I suspect it would work quite differently in game, but felt it was important to note.
I really do not want to pursue this right now. - MIND COMPULSION: All Katherine has to do is make eye contact with you and she can easily tell you what to think, feel, say or do. What she can compel you to do can be something that happens after a certain event, a word or sound trigger, or in x amount of hours. She cannot compel other vampires and she cannot compel witches in her canon, although I am happy to shift that around if vampire/witch characters would like to be affected.
An important note about mind compulsion is that it's really difficult to break out of. Characters in canon have to be compelled by other vampires to remember (if the person who compelled them in the first place hasn't made it difficult to do that) or humans have to die and be turned into vampires. I'd like to talk about if the mind compulsion will ever be broken/intentions behind having Katherine compel someone before we start! She is meticulous and would have plans for this.
In game, Katherine will experience pain when she tries to compel someone. - DREAM MANIPULATION: She can manipulate dreams or when you're unconscious. She'd need a good reason to want to manipulate your character's dream. Note that it's difficult to trace this back to her unless she's the only person your character has told that they hate bananas and suddenly they're dreaming about bananas for a week. These can be nightmares or dreams—it's not really noted if she can somehow tap into the character's subconscious to pull forth memories etc. but considering it has happened in canon a few times, I'd believe she can.
In game, she can't manipulate the game's dream setting. - SUPER STRENGTH: With her being over 530 years old, Katherine is one of the strongest and most powerful vampires in canon. She is incredibly strong, both physically and mentally—not to count emotionally, given Katherine has gone through some shit—and she is very hard to overpower.
While canon likes to fluctuate on this, I'm going by the early canon rules: Katherine can overpower a vampire who is 2 years old, 170 years old, 300 years old, etc.
Going up against her at full power is dangerous. She can push through mental and magic manipulation, dependent on the user's ability and strength.
NOTES: Do you accept Katherine as your lord and saviour?
