During the quiet year, Katherine will be settling down. Picking up the dropped threads she had left in Pennsylvania, she'll be searching (and building) a home, compelling locals to ally themselves to her, and be less of a villain and more of a person as she continues to struggle with her mid-life crisis.

When we return to Katherine the following year, she is still manipulative, cunning, and untrustworthy, but she is less likely to be who she had been previously — while she may be keen to throw any under the bus, those she calls her friends are her friends, and she will go to great lengths to protect them.

SUMMER IN 2,701 (Jun, Jul, Aug)

JUNE - On June 22, Katherine turns 539. As a birthday gift to herself, she participates in the joust. Katerina Petrova was an excellent horse rider, and even better at holding a lance, and she will win a few tournaments. She will also be compelling people of their secrets and their gold.
JULY - Description
AUGUST - Katherine will attend both the Sunsoak Markets (to trade and buy) and the Festival of Lights. The former will see her mourn and say goodbye to her mother and her daughter. These feelings of guilt and loss will not fade.

FALL IN 2,701 (Sept, Oct, Nov)

SEPTEMBER - As per the magic breaking within the drabwurld, Katherine will be speaking Bulgarian. She will also attend the annual wreath festival. Her house will have been built.
OCTOBER - Attending Samhain, Katherine will be missing Elijah very much. She will see Black Shuck to speak of death and perhaps why it's so frightening.
NOVEMBER - With ease, Katherine butchered the criminals that had escaped. Returning them mostly dead, she'll be trading them for a fee of her own. ( TBD )

MARCH, 2,701

[ lingering in mair, it's almost a pity caer scima is in ruins. she quite liked the closet where she could easily have garments tailored to her desires and her figure. but she remains quiet within the month, travelling by horse from mair to nimh gleanne with armel by her side, as she takes to searching for a new home to call her own. after the previous month of battling, of tearing the throats out of the seelie soldiers using her teeth, and learning her boons turn her completely invincible, katherine's simultaneously walking on air and bored. ]

[ within mair, she's often found shopping — either window or with the gold in her pockets she has compelled from natives and taken from the slain upon the battlefield. she's never without her black heels or her handbag, its depths unknown to any as she can easily pile jewellery and shoes within it, and not feel the weight of her items. armel is always beside her, either arm in arm, or hands within his pockets, as they chatter away about everything and nothing at all. and it's with a kindness to his smile he often regards her, as she always peers upon him fondly, too. ]

[ it truthfully doesn't take her long to realise the music is coming from inside of her mind. she's spent years walking into another's dreams, manipulating it to her liking, that she can easily discern when another wishes to take to her own. though it'd taken her quite a few minutes to learn stefan was manipulating her within the tomb, it only takes her a few days to realise the music that renders her remorseful is coming from inside of her head. it makes her angry, knowing it's tricking her as she wonders if she's truly asleep now as she lies within her chambers in mair. she knows she's asleep, but a part of her wonders if she is at all. ]

[ she slips into her dreams, finding herself within bulgaria once more. the cottage she stands before is cloaked within darkness, fire brimming along the skirts of the woods as she can see the destruction from inside the house from outside. she can smell the blood of her mother, her father, and her sister inside, but above the sounds of the harp, she can hear the cries of a baby, too. it's with long strides, through timid if one was to glance at her fingers curling within fists, she approaches her childhood home. and it's with a deep breath she steels herself for what it is she's about to find, so determined to shatter the harp that haunts her even when she's not asleep. ]

[sleeping deeply was something she still took great pleasure in when time allowed. to sink into nothingness, even if the dragon's visions still echoed in her mind. the battlefield, the Fox, the tree of blood. it all mixes to the music, and she isn't sure how she feels other than tired.

but there is no anchoring this time, and she's drawn forth through until her feet touch down somewhere she's never dreamed before. another vision? an aftereffect of magic again? whatever it is, there is blood in the air and smoke on the breeze, and she makes not a sound as she draws closer.

wait. that was Katherine. if she was awake, she would have questioned it, but dreams can take such things and make them rational. instead of saying a word, as she draws near she reaches out to lightly touch her on the shoulder. wherever they are, she has made the snap decision that they are going together.]

[ anywhere within the drabwurld, katherine's slaying swans. either snapping their necks with her hands as she blurs toward them with an inhumane speed, or with her unbreakable spear as she practices her javelin throws, she easily watches them morph into figurines and places them within her handbag. it's almost a sport, travelling the mainland with her horse and armel who occasionally joins her, as she finds a little thrill in the hunt. if a weapon is tossed her way, she easily grasps it from mid air and grins, turning it over in her palm as she approaches the wielder and gifts it back. if a swan so much tries to strike her, it's with agility and a blur she breaks every bone within its body, first starting with the spine. ]

[ is this what elijah had felt, chasing her for so many years? where she's to gain gold and currency with the swans, he had wanted to earn her — or that's what she had wished to believe, what he had wanted to so desperately clutch to. she spends may travelling and collecting the figurines, joining others in their hunts, or merely taking to it by herself. it's nice, for once, not being the hunted. ]
